NOV10 – Changing Minds

First of all, a quick thanks to everyone who came out to yesterday’s Charity Swap on behalf of CAMH. We raised $640 for the cause, and had a bunch of happy swappers leave with some awesome finds 🙂

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s leading hospital in the treatment of and research into the twin (and sometimes intertwined) demons of mental illness and substance abuse.  The effects are widespread (a leading cause of disability in Canada) – though rarely spoken of – which is why “End Stigma” is prominently included in the Centre’s name on their Facebook Page

This Tuesday we’ll do what we always do on Tuesday nights at the Dovercourt House: attend a class, dance, socialize with friends – all *great* things for our own mental health, BTW. We’ll also be raising funds in support of CAMH through donations at the door (unless you’ve already donated online), purchasing Raffle Tickets, bidding on Silent Auction prizes, and perhaps participating in the Jack & Jill Tournament.

Thanking you in advance for your support, and please let me know if you have any questions.
