SEP07 – Back to Cool!

WOW! Still coming down from the Flash Mob experience – it “got me so high” 🙂 . Thanks again to everyone who participated –especially to Shelley, Nick, Mark and Annie from Joy of Dance, Sue, Robin, and all the other photographers, videographers, assistants and supporters…. This kind of undertaking truly “takes a village”, and watching the videos being posted from all of the world I’m thrilled that our city – our FUN AND FABULOUS local West Coast Swing community – is truly a participating member of a much larger “Global Village” BRAVO!

Check out the International Flashmob West Coast Swing 2015 (Official) Facebook Event site, and be amazed!

*I’m still looking for a new Registrar-Extraordinaire to take Julie’s place (if that’s even possible) in a few weeks. Please let me know if you’re interested in the position.

In just a little less than a month Jordan & Tatiana will be here in Toronto! – teaching levelled workshops along with other notable WCS pros: Maxence & Virginie from France, Jason & Annemarie Marker and Melissa Rollins from the U.S., and our own Nelson Clarke.  There will be Jack & Jill competitions – no points (they’re working on becoming a World Swing Dance Council registry event *next* year by getting the required number of competitors this year) – but no competition fees, either!  Weekend pass is $160 with proceeds going to the Canadian Institute for the Blind and you can register *in person* this week at the Dovercourt House (bypassing the online admin fees).

Still table seats available!!  Joanna and I are both selling table seats for this “pure” West Coast Swing event being held just outside of Montreal. You can buy from us for $144 *Canadian*; the online price for open seating, i.e. not at a designated table is US$125. So get in the car! Or board a train or plane and join “Bameo” (Ben McHenry and Cameo Cross), John Kirkconnell & Alyssa Glanville, Jerome & Bonnie Subey, David Ward & Maria Ford – for levelled workshops, WSDC Jack & Jill comps and more!

*THIS* FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th – TSDS Annual Open House
No classes – social “all-swing” dancing and some special performances (including Nelson and Alex’s beautiful Pro-Am routine, for the final time) – and a chance to do the Flash Mob again!  Make sure you have a partner and know the orientation (Leaders facing the mirrored wall to start). I’ll try to give everyone a two-song warning.
